С госпожой Мьинт Тадар, супругой посла Мьянмы (Бирма) , мы познакомились на собрании Международного женского клуба в Москве. Между нами завязался разговор, который было интересно продолжить. Я предложила ей дать интервью для портала «Диалог культур». В Москве она находится менее полугода. В первую очередь столица удивила ее снегом, который она увидела впервые. И у нас оказалось холоднее, чем ей думалось. По мнению госпожи Мьинт Тадар, Москва – королева российских городов.
QUEEN OF RUSSIAN CITIES
We met with ms. Myint Thadar, wife of the Myanmar Ambassador, at a meeting of International women club in Moscow. We had a conversation that was interesting to continue. And soon after, we met at the Myanmar embassy.
Я очень хотела бы поехать на экскурсию по Москве, когда наступит настоящая весна и потеплеет. Город, который я вижу сейчас, превосходит все мои ожидания. Также мне хотелось бы побывать в Санкт-Петербурге, северной столице России. Слышала много прекрасных отзывов об этом городе, построенном царем Петром I в начале XYIII века.
Ms. Myint Thadar, what surprised you the most in Moscow?
The Snow is the most surprising experience to encounter here as it is my first time seeing it. I must have to mention the weather too. It is infamous that the weather in Moscow is cold and freezing. But the weather here is much colder than I thought. The architecture and scenery are astonishing too. I have always known that Russia is the largest country in the world and Moscow is a huge city. However, in sight, Moscow indeed is a Queen of the Russian Cities, it is magnificent, clean and aesthetic. I can’t wait to go sightseeing and explore around Moscow when the weather becomes warmer. The city I’m seeing now is more than everything I have ever imagined. I would also like to visit St.Petersburg, the city founded by Tsar Peter I in the early18th century.
Каждый согласится, что главная трудность пребывания человека в другой стране состоит в языке и культурных традициях. В Москве, не зная русского языка, довольно сложно самостоятельно передвигаться по городу. Тем не менее, я наслаждаюсь жизнью здесь, так как получаю разнообразную информацию от общения с образованными людьми. Например, на встречах Международного женского клуба, которые я с удовольствием посещаю при возможности. У меня есть опыт пребывания и в других странах. Множество накопилось наблюдений, сравнений Востока и Запада, что невероятно интересно. Грустно бывает лишь оттого, что не могу постоянно, как на родине, в Мьянме, видеться со своими любимыми внуками.
Is it difficult for you to be the wife of an ambassador?
As for me, there’s no special difficulty of being an ambassador’s spouse. There will be some language barriers and cultural differences, for example, in Moscow; it’s a bit difficult for us non-Russian speakers to communicate conveniently. But I do enjoy this life as I have got so many experiences staying in different countries as well as I have made many great friends. I have got a chance to go to nice events like Coffee-Morning, and to meet all the gorgeous and nice ladies. I think it is interesting and refreshing to experience new cultures and to see new people. The most difficult thing for me to live in foreign countries would be that I have to miss my grandchildren.
Между восточными и западными странами существует немало различий в климате, традициях, норме, представлениях, которые влияют на социальную сферу, культуру, кухню, моду. Мьянма находится в Юго-восточной Азии, в которой тропический климат, что само по себе влияет на разные аспекты жизни. Каждая культура уникальна: чем больше различий, тем интереснее всматриваться и изучать, как это все устроено. Мне понравился ваш замечательный пример о языковых культурных особенностях: в России говорят, что они похожи как две капли воды, в Британии говорят, что похожи, как две горошины, в Китае, что они выстуканы из одной формочки. Я считаю, что постижение различий одного народа другим в значительной степени расширяет кругозор, с одной стороны, а с другой - помогает под новым углом зрения посмотреть на свою национальную культуру, религию и многое другое.
In your opinion, what is the difference between East and West?
I would say the obvious difference is Culture. East and West countries have many differences, such as histories, traditions, norms and perceptions.There are also other severaltangible differences like weather, architecture, food etc. Even in the East (Asia), Myanmar is a Southeastern country that has tropical weather which has around 30-40 degrees Celsius in summer, so the temperature difference is really huge between Moscow and southeastern countries. We have buildings with different architectural designs, different kinds of cuisines as they are derived from different cultures and histories and also from different habitats. We can literally see and study the other countries through technological advances as today is an IT age. But nothing can compare the personal experience. We may have many differences but it is a great chance to come to Moscow to study Russia’ culture and also to share Myanmar’s culture. I believe that sharing each other’s uniqueness will help build better relationships and understandings.
Большинство людей в Мьянме исповедуют буддизм, хотя Мьянма на сегодняшний день представляет собой светскую страну и наша, конституция, подчеркиваю, разрешает человеку выбирать любую религию. По официальной статистике в Мьянме – 87% буддистов, 6% христиан, 0,5%мусульмане, 0,8% индусы, а также племенные религии и другие. Я исповедую буддизм не только из-за того, что была рождена в традиционной буддистской семье. Я верю в учение Будды, Триранту (своеобразный символ веры), от всей души. Триранта – это три драгоценности буддийской доктрины, включающие Дхарму (закон, учение) и Сангху (монашеская община). Мы, буддисты, считаем пять заповедей, данные Буддой в YI веке до н.э., путем жизни каждого верующего. Это - отказ от убийства любого живого существа, отказ от воровства, отказ от лжи, отказ от прелюбодеяния, отказ от употребления спиртных напитков. (Библейский пророк Моисей получил 10 заповедей от Бога в XIII век до н.э. Прим. автора).
Myanmar is a Buddhist country. What role does religion play in your life?
Even though the majority of Myanmar people are Buddhists, Myanmar is a secular state and Myanmar Constitution grants and guarantees the nationals the freedom to religion. So, the nationals can practice any religion freely according to their beliefs. Statistically, Myanmar has 87.9 % Buddhists, 6.2 % Christians, 4.3 % Muslims, 0.5 % Hindus, and 0.8 % Tribal religions and others. I practice Buddhism not only as a traditional Buddhist born in a Buddhist family but also because I believe in Buddhism with all my heart. We value the essence of Buddhism, Triratna, which comprises the Buddha, the Dharma (the doctrine) and the Sangha (the monastic order). We, Buddhists, regard the five precepts of Buddhism as our way of life. I live by abiding by the five precepts which are; refrain from taking life (not killing any living being); refrain from taking what is not given (not stealing from anyone); retrain from the misuse of the sense (not having the sexual misconduct); refrain from wrong speech (not lying); refrain from intoxicants that cloud the (not drinking alcohol).
Как известно, уже наступил Новый год по григорианскому (христианскому) и китайскому календарю. По-мьянмскому календарю мы будем отмечать Новый год в апреле. В этом году он выпадает на 17 апреля. С этого дня на протяжении 4 или 5 дней у наc проходит водный фестиваль, который мы называем «Тинджан фестиваль». Он заключается в том, что люди поливают друг друга водой, чтобы очистить загрязненные помыслы прошлого года. Таким образом, мы приветствуем наступление Нового года.
When New Year came according to the Buddhist Calendar?
According to Myanmar Calendar, the New Year is in April. For this year, the New Year will be on 17 April 2022. Myanmar celebrates the New Year with Water Festival (Thingyan Festival) which usually lasts for four days to five days. We splash water to each other during water festival, to cleanse the negativity and impurities of the previous year and to welcome the New Year.
Я люблю этот праздник. Не раз встречала его в Нейпьидо, нынешней столице Мьянмы, где сосредоточены интереснейшие памятники. Среди них – пагода «Уппатасанти (защищающая от бедствий), она является копией Пагоды Швейдагон в Янгоне (очень древней и почитаемой в Мьянме, где по преданию хранятся реликвии четырех предыдущих Будд). Мьянму называют страной Золотых пагод, которых насчитывается около 2,5 тысяч. Затем я бы хотела порекомендовать посмотреть Махавизара Бумипата, самую большую статую Будды в мире. Также стоит посетить «Фоквар» - заповедник слонов, музей ювелирных изделий, парк фонтанов, национальный парк, Парламент.
The main attraction of the Capital of Myanmar – Naypyidaw?
The most prominent landmark in Naypyitaw is Uppatasanti Pagoda which is the replica of the Shwedagon Pagoda.The next place I would like to recommend is MarawizayaBumiphatha Buddha Statue which is the highest sitting Buddha statue in the world. The other city’s attractions are elephant sanctuary Phokyar resort, Gems museum, Water Fountain Park, National Landmark Garden, Parliament houses etc.
The former Capital of Myanmar which is still the largest and commercial hub of the country is Yangon. It is a home to Myanmar’ most treasured Religious landmark Shwedagon Pagoda, the most sacred site of Buddhism in Myanmar which contains four relics of the previous Buddhas, and was built 2500 years ago.
В заключение несколько слов добавлю о себе. Я окончила Экономический Университет в Янгоне. Преподавала математику в средней школе. У меня двое детей: сын – матрос, старший помощник в круизе, а у дочери есть собственный бизнес. И еще есть три внука 9, 6 лет и совсем маленький трехмесячный малыш. Люблю спорт, жду подходящей погоды в Москве, чтобы заниматься им на улице. И, конечно, как и многие женщины повсюду, люблю ухаживать за собой, используя разнообразную косметику.
Tell me, please, about your education, profession, family, hobby..
I got a Bachelor of Economics (B. Econ) from the University of Economics (Yangon).I used to work as a Mathematics Teacher formiddle school students. I retired when I was teaching for Grade 8. I have one son and one daughter. My son is a seafarer, working as a chief mate on a cruise and my daughter is now running her own business in Myanmar. I also have three grandchildren. They are now 9 years, 6 years and 3 months old respectively. As a hobby, I like working out and doing gym. At the moment, because of the cold weather of Moscow and pandemic situations, I work out at home by myself, but I would love to do an everyday walk in this beautiful vicinity around our residence when the spring comes.AndI have always been passionate about skincare and cosmetics. I like to collect beauty products whenever I get a chance.
